NAC Anaglyph: Mare Shoreline in Apollo Basin

A portion of the southwestern mare "shoreline" in the Apollo basin on the farside. This contact between ancient lava plains and a remnant crater rim shows the lunar surface as a land of contrasts -- of expansive plains and jutting mountain peaks [NASA/GSFC/Arizona State University].

Anaglyph of the southwestern portion of Apollo Basin. The image is centered at 37.14°S, 206.26°E. NAC images M127944969L/R, M127938184L/R [NASA/GSFC/Arizona State University].
