LROC images are providing important new insights into the geology of the Moon and helping to define key targets for future lunar exploration.
Scarps discovered in images from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter spacecraft by the LROC Team indicate that the Moon shrank globally in the geologically recent past and might still be shrinking into the present day. The results provide important clues to the Moon's geologic and tectonic evolution. Read more about this discovery here! Or go right to the article published in Science magazine.
