Impact Melt, Large Bowl pit: Copernicus | |
---|---|
Name | Copernicus LB4 |
Lat. | 10.2041 |
Long. | 339.9985 |
Desc. | Elliptical pit with very rounded floor, and taller walls than most of the other Copernicus S_ pits (vertical walls are up to 35m high). This pit was previously identified as "Copernicus 15". Floor has numerous 5-20m boulders. Possible traversable slope at two points (NW rim and NNE rim), but paths may be blocked by boulders. Rim is mostly unbroken. There is a narrow slope down towards the rim on the SE side, reminiscent of a Type-I APC (Cushing et al. 2015), but slews do not reveal any openings above the current floor-level. |
