What is the Wide Angle Camera (WAC) on LRO?
The Wide Angle Camera (WAC) on the LRO spacecraft will take images of the entire Moon in both visible light (light that your eyes can see) and ultraviolet light (high energy light your eyes cannot see) to study and map the mineral composition of the lunar surface. The WAC is part of complex camera system (LROC) that will be operated by scientists at Arizona State University.
