Lunar Pits – Ingenii


Collapse pits provide valuable views of the shallow subsurface structure of the lavas that filled the mare basins. The farside Mare Ingenii pit reveals layer upon layer of lava flows that flooded the Ingenii basin. The pit floor is inviting, what lies in the shadow and beyond?
