Prasun Mahanti, ASU, Arizona

Prasun Mahanti completed his B.Tech in IEM,Kolkata, India and joined Arizona State University in 2006 where he is presently pursuing his PhD in Electrical Engineering. His research interests include image analysis algorithm development , statistical data modeling and particle tracking. Thoroughly excited about space missions and their ' out of the world ' instrumentation requirements , he loves his role amidst the great team at LROC. He has worked on multiple projects like Apollo/Gemini flight film scanning , crater counting ,WACview ,the calibration of WAC and is now involved with NAC temperature modeling for LRO . Outside his work at LROC , he is involved in research on medical imaging, compressive sensing and particle tracking in collaboration with multiple groups at the ASU Mathematics and Biochemistry departments. When he is not being a nerd , Prasun loves to spend time with his wife Runali and his family , sketch with charcoal, watch sci-fi movies and attempt master his culinary skills.
