Julie Stopar, Research Analyst, Science Operations Center, Operations Team

Julie is part of the LROC Operations Team, which is primarily responsible for targeting interesting features on the surface of the Moon. Before moving to ASU, she was a graduate student at the University of Hawaii, where she earned in 2007 a Masters degree in Geology and Geophysics for her research on aqueous alteration in Martian meteorites. Her first year at ASU was split between the LROC group and the Center for Meteorite Studies, where she assisted with laboratory and collections work for the largest University-based meteorite collection.
Julie received her Bachelors degree in Geology from the University of Michigan where she studied geology and paleontology. After that, she spent two years working as a hydrologic technician for the U.S. Geological Survey, Water Resources Division, in Lansing, Michigan.
